Payback’s a Witch

Have I mentioned how much I love an adult queer romance? Especially one that isn’t singularly about coming out? Don’t get me wrong, coming out is a HUGE part of queer folx lives, but it’s not the only story that queer folx experience when it comes to love. With Payback’s a Witch, the first in her Thistle Grove series, Lana Harper conjures a warm, rich romance, full of wholly-realized and witchy characters.

And I loved it. Period.

Emmy Harlow has cast off her powers in favor of individuality and control, but when a tradition pulls her back to Thistle Grove, she’s surprised to find that she’s missed the feel of the place, its warmth and allure. Talia Avramov, on the other hand, is a die-hard Thistle Grove denizen; magic courses through her, and it’s her draw that pulls Emmy closer to embracing what she truly values. Their romance has a push and pull to it that kept me hoping for more (and feeling satisfied when the “more” finally rolled around).

If you’re craving a queer romance that feels fully fleshed out, delightfully original, with touches of witchy and autumnal goodness, this book is the perfect choice.
